Club Working Day

3 October 2010

There is a large amount of work the Club needs to do and the best way to achieve this is to hold a working day.  This will be held on Sunday 3 October 2010.  The jobs are listed below so that you can plan what tools to bring and what job(s) to volunteer for.

Destone the stop butt.  The main stop butt needs to be destoned to prevent ricochets.  Tools needed; gloves and wheelbarrows.

Paint the clubhouse.  The outside of the clubhouse needs painted in outdoor paint. The interior needs painting.  Tools needed; overalls, ladders, paint rollers and roller trays.  Club will provide paint.  If you can provide paint let us know.  Exterior - green, interior white emulsion.

Weatherproof the target store.  The Club will provide bitumen paint and roofing felt.  Tools needed; ladders for access, gloves.

Car park at the 500 point Clear the old sleepers and complete the wall of sleepers and shift the gravel to make new surface outside the Club House. Gloves, shovels.

Scrub tree cutting.  Cut down the trees in front of 600 point and at the 500 point. Re-cut the path through the gorse to the "Glengoulie South" flag pole.  Chain saws and brush cutters.  Safety equipment.

Insulate the Target Store.  Erect timber framing and attach insulation sheets. Tools needed; electric screwdrivers, hammers, saws.

Many hands make light work so the more members that turn up the more we can get done.  Let me know if you can come so I can gauge numbers.  We will provide hot water at a minimum and I am working on providing soup and rolls to keep us going.
